Inaugural HCIS Boarder Government Investiture (25 July 11)

The inaugural HCIS Boarder Government was formed this year. It is led by a 14-member Executive Committee who are selected after interviews by Vice-Principal for Boarding. Mr. Tan Teck Hwa and Resident Mentors, Ms. Jaime Lim and Ms. Stella Liew.

The 14 members in the Executive Committee are all international boarders who are currently residing in the Hwa Chong Boarding School.  Their mission is to strengthen the bonds and improve the welfare of the boarding community so that the students can experience a greater sense of belonging to the big ‘boarding school family’.

On 25 July 201l, HCIS held an investiture ceremony to formalise the setting up of the Boarder Government. The occasion was also used to acknowledge the efforts of the boarder government towards fostering a boarding community.

The ceremony was put together by a team of highly committed and enthusiastic governors under the guidance of the Resident mentors.  Much efforts were put into organising a successful event particularly the performances.  Through working closely as a team, the friendship and bond between the governors deepened and strengthened.

The new Boarder Government heralds the beginning of a new culture and spirit for all HCIS boarders.
