Singapore International Schools Mathematics Competition 2011 (18 Feb 2011)

The annual Singapore International Schools Mathematics Competition (SISMC) was held  on  18 February 2011 at the Overseas Family School.  A total of 18 teams and 56 individuals took part in the competition. Participating schools included UWCSEA (Dover), German European Singapore School, Australia International School, Tanglin Trust School and Overseas Family School.

We are happy to announce that our team of students from the Upper Secondary level has performed impressively by achieving the Outstanding Performance award despite this being their first attempt at the competition.

Lee Hoomin (Class 4 Joy) came in third in the Individual Competition category while our Team Alpha, which comprised Vipara Rasphone (Class 4 Integrity), Son Yu Jeen (Class 4 Resilience) and Lee Hoomin (Class 4 Joy) clinched the second place in the Team Competition.

The Faculty of Mathematics runs a Mathematics Talent Development Programme to develop our students’ talent and encourage them to appreciate and acquire a greater understanding of Mathematics. Through this programme, numerous students have achieved outstanding performance in prestigious competitions such as Singapore Mathematical Olympiad, South East Asia Mathematics Competition and Australia Mathematics Competition.
